Dále ještě není rozhodnutý termín a hrací systém. Vaše návrhy na toto pište dolu do diskuze a až se nějak ujednotíme, pošlem to Attilovi.
E-mail od Attily v originálním znění je zde:
Hello everyone,
Since renju TWC in Tokyo and Euroleague both ended already, I think it is really time to start to organize the 1st Online Gomoku Team World Championship. I quote myself from my previous letter just for some lines.
The parameters of OGTWC:
Place: online, www.playok.com
Rule: gomoku, swap2
System: Double Round robin most probably (can be changed)
Time limit: 30 minutes/player
Teams: 4 players/team + 2 substitutes allowed
Scoring: Primary the result of a match (can be 1p, 0,5p and 0p), secondary the
total reached points/team
According to this, a match would look like this (example):
Poland player 1 – Taiwan player 1 2:0
Poland player 2 – Taiwan player 2 1:1
Poland player 3 – Taiwan player 3 2:0
Poland player 4 – Taiwan player 4 0:2
Result wold be 5:3, Poland would get 1 point for victory and 5 points as a secondary score while Taiwan would get 0 points for the lose and 3 points as a secondary score.
Question of date:
Date:???
Date is not decided yet, we should start to think about it. I think the most suitable date would be around August or September. What do you think? We should fix it as soon as possible. We have not many choices, this event can be held in August, September or October (cause Euroleague starts in November and July will be about European Champs)
My suggestion: First weekend of September (sept 4–5) and/or second weekend of September (sept 11–12)
Since the time limit is 30 and most probably there will be many teams, we can not run OGTWC on one day. I think 2 days are needed at least. These 2 days can be a consecutive saturday-sunday or 2 consecutive weekends. What do you think?
My suggestion: 2 consecutive weekends + a 3rd day for the finals
Question of playing system:
I think double round robin would be the best. Suppose there will be 11 teams. Example:
First day: Rounds 1–5
Second day: Rounds 6–10
3rd day: Semi finals and final
After 10 rounds, when every team has played with every other, we got a final order. According to that order, I suggest the first 4 teams to go on to the big final. Then 1st place would play with 4th place and 2nd place would play with 3rd place. The 2 winners could go to the final, which game would decide the World Champion title.
I think this suggestion is optimal. It is not too long, neither too short and all teams have a chance to prove.
I ask everyone to comment on these 2 questions and lets start a conversation about the details of OGTWC as soon as possible!
If we can agree in the details, I will make a web page for this event and countries can start to prepare.
The involved countries and their status:
Wants to play:
Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Russia.
Questionable:
China, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia, Slovenia, Taiwan.
No info:
Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Armenia. (If anyone could forward this mail for these
countries, please do!)
I gently ask once again everyone who reads this e-mail to answer for all recipients and comment on the following topics:
Date of OGTWC
Playing system
Anything else concerning OGTWC

| [ reagovat ]peroxid | 15.7.2010 - 12:02 maily jdou odspodu nahoru Hello friends! I should probably answer from RIF side, as Peter Jonsson is very busy finishing a schoolyear. To be honest, i dont have very clear view for future for gomoku inside RIF and i dont think other leaders of RIF have it yet. But my sure point is that only gomoku and renju together can survive and get stonger in future. I hope as several people from RIF CC - Jonsson, Karlsson, Salnikov and leaders of federations - Nikonova, Attila, Igor(?) will come to Karepa, to European Championship, we have time to discusse this matter deeply. Yes, RIF has the document for renju title competitions. You can see it here: http://renju.net/organizations/Tournament_Rules_In_International_Championships.pdf . It is made by RIF Sport Commision (members Aivo Oll, Pavel Salnikov, Yoshihiro Iio, Ants Soosyrv, chairman Stefan Karlsson). Document is mainly made 2 years ago, but still several corrections and additions are needed - Stefan and me are planning to do it this summer when we have more time. I think same kind of document should be made for gomoku title competitions as well, i think it can be task of Gomoku Committee. This summer i will try to be much more active in Gomoku Committee as well. I agree that OGTWC should be RIF official competition. I am sure RIF supports Attila to be main organiser. I totally agree with Igor that teams from all countries should be allowed to take part. If Germany and France want to take part - its only good for gomoku! Tie-breaks - main difference with renju TWC is that we count game points before match points. But it can be opposite in OGTWC, why not. I have earlier talked with Madli Mirme to ask her to be captain of Estonian team, if she still agrees, she will be. Friendly, Ants from Stockholm (Stefan Karlsson and his family send their best regards to everyone) Hello all! It is nice to see the progress of this discussion, I would like to add some lines/ideas/opinions, too. Rules: I am sure there are some official RIF rules for team competitions like TWC, which we should use as guidelines for this competition with few specific things added. Some things can be also used from Euroleague rules, I think it will be necessary to have rules for this event in written form, too. Who is the organizer: I think it would be the best solution to make this an official RIF competition, with Attila as RIF approved main organizer of this event. Who can play - teams: If this will be an official RIF competition, there could be some advantages for RIF countries. Although as not only competition of top teams but also popularization of this game is the aim which we follow, I would suggest to allow teams from all countries. If we want advantages for RIF countries, then it can be possibility to have more teams in future or in case of some division into groups direct qualification of their A team for RIF countries into top group. Who can play - players: I am not sure if the right way is to be strict here with some live tournaments or EL. In case of live tournaments - there were not too many RIF official live tournaments, I think only renju was sent for rating calulation and so on, so almost only WC can be considered as official live competition. OK we could say at least for the countries with big number of players, that any live tournament or year in EL qualifies.. But everyone can claim a player played in this and this unofficial school tournament or something. And there are also other online leagues, like czech (and slovak - they play together) which could qualify. I consider the best if the organizer approves teams and team players or if some are unknown, he investigates, asks about and looks at kurnik nicks, gives questions to captains, leading to approval or disapproval. Team line-up, substitions: Count of players - here I suggest to set a minimum and maximum number for whole (more days or more weekends) competition, the real number can be anything between these two. My first idea would be minimum 6, maximum 14. This should be a sorted list by approximate strength and must be provided before the start of the competition and approved by organizer. The organizer sorts out possible problems before approval or disapproval and then informs the team captain about the result, for example "Your team's participation was approved". And for each match, if we stay within current system that 4 vs 4 play, player1 teamA plays 2 games vs player1 teamB and so on, we don't need any substitutes. Before the match (we should decide when exactly) the captain informs which 4 players play in this particular match, the order of them must be the same as in team's complete sorted list. Tie breaks: This is probably also covered by TWC rules (I am sure something similar comparing to what Attila wrote), the same about secondary criteria for final competition results. I am ready to be the responsible person and captain for Slovakia, I would like to confirm the participation of Slovakia, although it depends how hard the final criteria will be, because for example in official RIF live events only one played so far :) Kind regards, Igor Eged (iec) -----Original Message----- From: "Demján Attila" [elrarand@msn.com] Date: 31/05/2010 11:05 Subject: RE: OGTWC fixing details Note: Original message sent as attachment --Forwarded Message Attachment-- From: elrarand@msn.com Subject: RE: OGTWC fixing details Date: Mon, 31 May 2010 10:05:05 +0100 Thank you Angst for your detailed analysis:) Im gonna try to reply and roll on this topic. Who is the organizer: To be honest, I dont know what would be the best answer for this question. I have several further plans concerning online tournaments which might be able to run under the organization RIF, so if RIF agrees, I or we can be responsible for online events. (i don't know if there is an online affairs committee or sth like that in RIF) Who are the participants: You pointed out a very important thing, Angst. One team per country is sure, it shouldnt be more. I am wondering who should have the right to play, all countries or only RIF countries. For example, I am pretty sure that countries like Germany or France could make a team, but its not clear if we should invite them or not. Players: Since this is an online event, we cant be sure who is playing. Unfortunately the chance to cheat is unavoidable in this issue. If we would say that only the ones who attended a live event at least once could play, it could be still possible to decline this rule for some players. Plus, we cant be sure if someone was on a live tour before, for example we cant check the situation of a vietnamese player. I suggest that RIF countries have to follow this rule, so the bigger countries can only play with players who surely attended a live event before. In some case, there wont be enough players, so I would add to this rule the EL membership. I mean playing in EL in a whole season would supply attending a live event. I think this is solvable. Substitutes: I think 12 player/country is way too much, it is unnecessary in my opinion. Originally I suggested 4+3 players, but 4+4 can be acceptable as well from my side. There should be 4 players out of 8 who can play. If there is not, there wont be in case of 12 players either, only in some special cases. Plus it is said to be a team world champs and I disagree that a country should be represented by such a big amount of players. Moreover, there are a lot of countries which might cant even delegate 12 players. So I vote 4+4. The other question here> Substitutes can play in any table, otherwise we would really need more reserve players. I suggest that every country should name its 4 best players in a ranked form - table1,2,3,4. 1 is the best, 4 is the 4th best. Then comes the 4 substitutes, who can play in any table. We should also talk about the tables and the ranking. What do you think, is it good if each country makes an own ranklist and make their lineup according to that? Or such thing is not needed, each country can decide who will play on which table? My opinion is that each country must make an objective ranklist, otherwise it would be possible to prepare against certain opponents while the opponent team doesnt know it. So secret preparations without the knowledge of the opponent should be not possible. Thus, we all have to make a list which cant be changed. We also must add here the following rule: Each captain MUST inform the OGTWC organizing team about the lineup of the next match, 1-2 days before. I think this is the most suitable way to avoid unfair gaming. Being late: I suggest to make 15 minutes max possible absence. If a player doesn't show up in 15 minutes, the opponent wins the game by 2:0. Final schedule should be fixed as soon as possible, we cant wait for each countries answer. There are some countries whom I know is interested, but hasn't reply yet. So soon we have to fix the schedule and change that according to the possible change of the number of participating teams. Tie breaks: I already wrote about it before. I suggest to count first the MATCH result (can be win draw or lose, 1 0,5 or 0 points). The secondary score would be the game points, means how many game points did a country reached. If A player beats B player by 2:0, then the team of A player gets 2 game points. What do you think? I am waiting the reply of other countries. If there wont be any activities soon, I think Poland, Estonia and Hungary will decide the details due the lack of time and activation. Best regards, Attila Subject: RE: OGTWC fixing details From: piotrek401@o2.pl Date: Mon, 31 May 2010 01:18:10 +0200 Dear All, I have just completed my analysis of all previous propositions and it seems there are few questions that Attila (or organizer/organizers of OGTWC) shall find reply to. While preparing such an tournament some questions are obvious: when, where, who and how? We know that the playing place is playok site. It seems we have also agreed the dates. I believe we still need to answer to some "who?" questions. First of all, who is the organizer? Currently, it seems we will join Attila's tournament. That's ok. However, maybe it would be better for OGTWC if Attila would be organizer of RIF on-line tournament, not just his own? The second "who?" is about participants. It looks one team per one country. What the country in which way shall do to take part? I mentioned before that it would be good idea to indicate captains from accessing countries who will be responsible for all the contact with organizers. Another "who? is who can represent his/her national team. Probably there is no other answer than players from the list sent to organizer while accessing the OGTWC. But shall we accept all candidatures? Or maybe some restrictions would be necessary (eg. participation in at least one live (inter)national tournament)? Discussing team's line-up we should decide what is the reserve players number and how the changes will be done. We need to remember that there are 4 almost full days planned, so it seems to be reasonable to have the possibility to make the changes. I'm not sure if 8 players per team is enough. However, maybe registration form shall include 12 names and captains will decide eg. week before OGTWC what is the first and the second 4? Shall Table1 player have Table1 reserve player or all reserve players can join all possible tables? Are just only reverse changes allowed or other too? I also propose to indicate captains deputies... Another thing is to find the answer to some "how?" questions :) I'm thinking on current schedule proposition. There are probably two possibilities: current (including breaks) and alternative (no breaks, but free almost half of a day). Unfortunately, 30 min is currently maximum on playok. In other case we could consider 40 or even 60 mins per game. In my opinion really important is to start the rounds on exact time. I would just add any rule regarding late players (eg. 10 minutes to come or walk-over). However, I assume that final schedule shall be prepared according to the number of participating teams. The classification can be based on "big" and "small" points, but there should be some tie-breaks rules to be added (eg. personal match, table1 results, additional match, etc.) in case of teams with the same number of points. Above you can find just some fundamental remarks. I hope we will start interesting discussion. Maybe we really shall start from accessing the OGTWC and then decide the details? What do you think? Kind regards, Piotr Dnia 26 maja 2010 16:33 Ants Soosyrv <asoosyrv@hotmail.com> napisał(a): Dear friends, Nice to see that representative of such a big gomoku country like Poland is sharing my ideas - less weekends, more reserve players :). I am not against to diving teams into 2 groups either, but small problem is how to do it? In renju we have used seeding by international ratings in that case, as just random lotting might be not so fair... But if all teams agree with system there is no reason to complain later, if group is too tough :). Friendly, Ants Dear Five-in-a-row Friends, First of all I would like to thank Attila once for his engagement and work on gomoku promotion and all leaders from other countries who support him and his OGTWC concept and other interesting ideas or events. Secondly, I would like to apologize, but I didn't manage to reply before Attila's last e-mail, so maybe some of my ideas would be a little bit late, but I still want to express my overall opinion. I think that we should treat OGTWC like standard live tournament that would be really helpful in our discussions. There are many pros of this "live" tournament and one big minus which is time difference. It is quite hard to organize such a competition, but fortunately it is not impossible. We need to do our best to make it as simple as possible. To be honest, I would start from preparing the list of interested countries that would like to participate. Every country accessing the OGWTC shall indicate one representative responsible for all organizational aspects like eg. contact with Attila (or other organizers) or selection of the team, etc. (it could be so called captain and don't have to be good player, like me in Poland ;)). It would be easier to plan everything with the knowledge of number of participating teams (eg. if any country outside Europe will not access, the problem of time difference won't be a problem anymore). In my opinion the best solution is to play some kind of group stage on one weekend and final stage on another (eg. 4, 6 or 8 best teams). It is obvious that there will be no good date for all teams. This is why we need to decide the date as soon as possible to allow to take it into account while preparing internal (national) or international (RIF etc.) plans. In the first edition I would suggest to allow to play just one team per one country. At this moment we probably shall also consider what would be the status and future of OGTWC. Will it be just incidental competition or first one in the long-term future? Is this just Attila's competition or worldwide (under the auspices of RIF or even one of RIF's standard events with Attila as director of first edition?). If OGTQWC would become one of RIF events it could be more interesting for some countries. Considering system of play, I suggest to use not more than two weekends. Ales' idea is quite interesting, but I suppose it would be much easier to find one or two weekend (even if it would be full time) than 7 or 8 weekends part time. Moreover, I don't think it is necessary to have so many weekends reserved. I would divide teams into two groups in situation there will be more than 8 teams and best 4 teams probably should go to the final stage. I see that Attila proposed team to consist from 7 players. I don't see any reason why this number can't be higher. I know that it would be hard to prepare for such big amount of players, but just 3 changes during two weekends seems to be not so much. I am afraid there could be many walkovers. I am also wondering who can play in the OGWTC. Do you agree that everyone can participate? I would consider if we should allow to play just players who played at least once in national live tournament or maybe at least are playing in EL. What do you think? Finally, using the opportunity to discuss with you all, I would like to go back to my old idea of League of Nations or something similar. I suppose that OGTWC will last not more than two weekends per one or two years period. Half of year there is also EL. I wanted to start EL for countries basing on EL rules, but teams would be only national - Poland1, Hungary, Poland2, etc. We can obviously discuss the details, but I think we will be able to find enough time also to play such a tournament in the EL break. If you will not be interested with this idea, please remember that Poland is always willing to play friendly international matches :) I will try to look once at last Attila's e-mail and response more in details if it will be necessary. However, current propositions seem to be quite reasonable. I hope OGTWC will activate our gomoku world :) Best regards, Piotr Małowiejski (Angst) |

| [ reagovat ]peroxid | 25.5.2010 - 13:43 OGTWC Thank you guys for your replies, So far, only a few of you commented, those who seemed to be active before. Having no responses from other representatives convinced me to go on and make all the details fixed this week. I am waiting for your replies and notices until next Sunday concerning my exact proposal shown below. Taking into consideration all the replies I got, I tried to make the parameters according to our potential agreement. The parameters of OGTWC: System: round robin (4 vs 4, table1player vs another table1 player 2 games, table2player vs another table2 player 2 games...) Time limit: 30 minutes Rule: swap2 Date: September 4-5 and September 11-12. It means 2 weekends=4 possible playing days. Players: 4 players/team + 3 substitutes. Changes are allowed anytime during the competition. Of course, only if the player finished all his/her 2 games with the concrete opponent. During registration, the players have to be ranked. Each country should make a rank list of its players thus we can see who is Table1, Table2, etc. Score system: Primary score=WHOLE MATCH RESULT (1 point goes for 8:0, 7:1, 6:2, 5:3, 0,5 points goes for 4:4). Secondary score=GAME POINTS (the number of won games by a team) Do you agree with this point? Register a team: All captains have to send an email including the exact info (confirming real players) of the 4 players+3 substitutes. There will be a deadline for registering, like 1-2 weeks before the start. No new players can be added during OGTWC, each country has to pick its 7 players before the registration. Number of teams: Unless the number of countries is less than 7, each country can take part with 2 teams. If the number of participating countries is more than 7, each country can play with 1 team. The winner of OGTWC can take part with 2 teams in the next year. possible SCHEDULE: (Supposing there will be 10 teams) September 4: rounds 1-3: 11-13, 15-17, 19-21 hours September 5: rounds 4-6: 11-13, 15-17, 19-21 hours September 11: rounds 7-9: 11-13, 15-17, 19-21 hours September 12: SEMI-FINALS: 12-14 FINAL: 16-18 This is just a sample for a possible schedule, dates and times can be changed. If you wont share your remarks on this schedule, this is gonna be fix. In a few days, I will publish the details of the coming OGTWC on my webpage and will refresh it often. Every remarks are appreciated. Best regards, Attila |
| [ reagovat ]peroxid | 19.5.2010 - 23:31 Dopis od Aleše Hey guys, even if I cannot play, I think that it would be better to split the tournament in more weekends. Attila's example: 5 rounds per day = 10 hours of playing at least, more with breaks = it is hardly possible. I know how it is difficult to get players just e.g. for czech - pol or similar tournament. It would be good to find 4 weekends, e.g. in September. 3 weekends (6 playing days) for single round robin (7 rounds, each round 2 hours at least) and last weekend for semi and final. Second variant: teams can play during 10 - 14 days (whenever) and a weekend would be for semi and final. I wish you good luck, a good tournament and Ants, please, survive the marathon, I would like to see you again after coming back to Europe. I am greeting you from -73°C and never ending night (or till September at least). Ales P.S. Ants, a sauna here is perfect, just temperature difference (outside-inside) is 140°C :-) |

I briefly spoke with Taiwanese and they were not very optimistic about their participation. But about your questions - tournament system sounds well and also time seems to be ok (at least for me) , I mean Sept. 4.-5. and Sept. 11-12. (I think 2 consecutive weekends is a bit better). I suggest to have at least 8 people in team (4 substitutes), to have enough reserve players. For example, I am planning to go to Tallinn running marathon Sept. 12 and after that i am probably not able even for moving mouse :). Also I probably can play Sept. 4.-5. only part time. I am afraid many other people might have similar problems to play full weekend(s) Friendly, Ants |

Date of OGTWC: Some people have holidays also in September, students have autumn's exams, therefore I think October is the best month to play. 2. Playing system: It is necessary to know time table in advance and also take into account different time zones. There will be 9-19 participants. We should know the playing system in each cases in advance. Time to play: 30 min/player, 2 games à 2 hours/match a) Easy example 1: 10 EU countries (no problem with different time zones; 2h – not problem); 9 rounds 1st day: 9.00 (playok time)-11.00 1. Round 11.00-13.00 2. Round 13.00-15.00 lunch break 15.00-17.00 3. Round 17.00-19.00 4. Round 19.00-21.00 (till 23.00 Moscow time) 5. round 2nd day: 9.00 -11.00 6. Round 11.00-13.00 7. Round 13.00-15.00 lunch break 15.00-17.00 8. Round 17.00-19.00 9. Round b) Example 2: 9 EU countries, Japan (+8h) 9.00 -11.00 (17.00-19.00, Tokio time) 1. Round 11.00-13.00 (19-21.00) 2. Round 13.00-15.00 lunch break 15.00-17.00 (23.00-01.00 probably not acceptable for Japan) 3. Round If you organize OGTworldC, time table has to be acceptable for all countries. Questions: - Is 5 rounds/day acceptable or is better 4 round/day (EU countries only)? - I think in case, Japan is participant, it is possible to play at most 2 rounds/day. If 19 countries play à 18 rounds à 9 days!! Maybe is better to have more (qualifying) groups with 4-5 participants. - Is time limit 30 min/player OK? 3. Anything else concerning OGTWC: I agree with Ants to have more players, specially if we have more matches a day. Regards, Tomo Dernovšek |
| [ reagovat ]peroxid | 25.5.2010 - 13:42 Dopis od Antse 2 Hello friends, Thank you for your ideas, Ales and Tomo! October is possible also for estonians, but not so good as September, because we have many other renju-gomoku events. Still, if we know dates early we should manage. About time difference - to be exact - difference between Japan and Middle-Europe is "only" 7 hours while we have summertime. But actually today i got letter from Okabe - and he told to not count with Japan. He wrote that if we will have concretic information he will share it, but hardly there will be team from Japan, just because they dont have interest, not because of time difference. So, situation is easier, if China or Taiwan will take part, time difference is only 6 hours while we have summertime :). Asian people are actually so hardworking and sleep so little that I believe if they really want to take part it will not be main problem ( we european people are rather lazy and need much sleep, except of course Ales, Attila and Madli who dont sleep at all :) ) About playing system - personally i would not like to play many weekends, but as few as possible, but Estonia will accept any decision I believe :). Berte v potaz, že samotný turnaj zabere třeba dva víkendy a bude dosti náročný. 1 hra je na hodinu. |
